Common Apostille Questions

❓ What is the difference between State and Federal Apostille?

State Apostilles (Secretary of State) are for documents like Birth Certificates or notarized affidavits. Federal Apostilles (US Dept of State) are strictly for federal documents like FBI Background Checks. You cannot send an FBI report to the State of Florida; it must go to DC.

❓ Can I just send you a photocopy of my Birth Certificate?

No. The State requires the original Certified Copy with the raised seal and the Registrar's signature. If you only have a photocopy, you must order a new certified copy from Vital Statistics first.

❓ My document is for the UAE. Is that different?

Yes. While the UAE recently joined the Hague convention, processes can still vary. We recommend using our dedicated UAE button above to ensure your document receives the correct authentication for acceptance in Dubai or Abu Dhabi.

❓ Do you provide translation services?

Yes. If your destination country requires the document to be translated from English, we can add a Certified Translation to your order.
